about

Lenga was for centuries a cutting site of a solid lime-stone and dolomite, that accumulated during the lower and upper Cretaceous period. The upper-Cretaceous rudist limestone (white to yellow-brown colour) is one of the highest quality stones. Due to its large crystalline structures, this type of limestone is referred to as marble or polymarble by the local population.
Wind is gushing, the sea is high and the South wind is strong. Recording takes place from the crevice between the rocks which are bellow the sea level.
The Lenga quarry has explicit traces of the stone exploitation, flat plates, pools, vertical cuts, geological layering, and traces of block cutting. But today the site is deeply immersed in the wild Adriatic flora and fauna. Many cuts and crevices are offering unique acoustic geometries for the soundscape defined by an infinite orchestration of the movement of the sea.
